For nearly a month in the late summer of 1643 the city of Gloucester was at the centre of the national consciousness as it fatefully defied a king and withstood a siege few thought it could survive.

This illustrated talk looks at the story of the Siege of Gloucester and highlights some of the actions and people involved, by looking at contemporary accounts and evidence. In this talk I look more at the events and action whereas in The City Saved by God I look at the visible evidence for the Siege.
